Labels & flags

Organize conversations with categories and flags without confusing them with progress.

Labels, flags and statuses#

A label describes a category such as Stone, Joinery or Supplier documents. A flag marks a conversation for attention. A status describes its progress. A conversation can have several labels while remaining Needs Review.

Create a simple taxonomy#

  1. Inspect Settings → Labels and reuse established team names.
  2. Add labels or a hierarchy only where needed; avoid duplicate synonyms.
  3. Apply labels from the conversation menu and use Flagged to return to important work.
  4. Filter or group by label and check that the intended conversations appear.

Example#

Use Stone, Wood finishes and Metal for materials; Comparison, Document review and Missing information for task types. Avoid maintaining two conflicting definitions of Done through labels and statuses.

Keep in mind#

Label changes may trigger configured automations. Check relevant rules before bulk changes. Use sorting when you only want to change display order. Labels do not replace project membership or access permissions.
