Add from the MATLOOK catalog (desktop RC45 onward)#

  1. Sign in and open Settings → Skill Marketplace in the current workspace.
  2. Choose Browse catalog, search by name or filter by Skills.
  3. Open a preview, review the content and prerequisites, then add it to the current workspace.
  4. Open Skills to use it. A same-name local skill is preserved instead of overwritten. Administrators with catalog permission publish templates. Drafts and withdrawn entries are not offered for new additions; installed local skills are not remotely deleted. Browsing needs a connection, but the catalog is not contacted at startup. Retry later if loading fails; existing local skills remain available. Administrator skill templates currently contain Markdown instructions. Use the existing skill marketplace or local installation for complete bundles with scripts and template files. New catalog controls currently use Chinese labels.

What does a skill do?#

A skill combines a use case, procedure, templates and tool guidance. It is useful for recurring material comparisons, submittal preparation and document or spreadsheet outputs. The installed list determines what is available.

Use an existing skill#

  1. Open Skills and read the description and intended scope.
  2. Check required templates, scripts, software and online services.
  3. Name the installed skill in your conversation and provide the task's sources.
  4. Specify format and output location, then inspect a small sample or first result.
  5. Review the deliverable before applying the method to more sources.

Example request#

Use the installed spreadsheet-generation skill to turn the attached material candidates into an editable workbook.
Keep the column structure from my template. Leave missing fields empty and flag them.
Confirm the template and output location first.

Where do skills come from?#

Built-in skills ship with the application. Workspace skills apply to their workspace. Settings → Skill market on desktop provides discovery or installation supported by the current version. Market access needs a network; an installed skill's offline capability depends on its tools.

Create your own#

A skill folder contains at least SKILL.md, optionally with templates and scripts. Describe when to use it, required inputs, steps and acceptance checks. A skill does not guarantee correctness or replace authorization for file changes or external sending.
